Long Journal ahoy!

First off, sorry for disappearing for a month. I was ATTEMPTING to do NaNoWriMo, but that didn't really work out. I only managed 5,000 words. :iconfailplz: Too much real life stuff in the way.

That said, the massive number of STUFF in my inbox tells me I should never ignore this site for that long. So I'll be slowly but surely viewing everyone's deviations and replying to comments and what not. Sorry for the wall of silence folks.

In other news, I've been playing two new games that recently came out for the Wii.

First up, Kirby's Return to Dreamland. This is a FUN game. Kirby has returned at long last, and with some original powers to boot. I won't spoil the storyline, but I will give a general review.

First: The controls. The game makes excellent use of the Wii controller in utilizing the powers, though actually steering Kirby can be a tad tricky from time to time.

Second: the gameplay itself. Very fun, and highly addicting to boot. The powers are numerous and well executed, including his new "Super" powers.

Third: The multiplayer. I haven't really messed with this one as much, but I can certainly attest that battles are much easier and more fun with more people.

Then there's the inside jokes. One in particular is something that shippers are probably going nuts over. In multiplayer If one character eats a healing item and then touches another character while it's working they'll perform what's called a "face to face" and share the health. In other words, they'll kiss. Considering the example picture in the instruction booklet shows Kirby and Meta-knight, I wonder if it's safe to assume what Nintendo thinks of the shipping business.

Game two: Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword.

In a word, awesome.

First of all, the game puts the motion controls to excellent use. (Until i played this game, i had absolutely no idea that the Nunchuk had a motion unit in it. I'll have to be more careful with it.) The controls work VERY well, though I often find myself having to recenter things, but then it's probably because I'm sitting a tad bit too close to the T.V. :P

Next we have our new sidekick/guide/whatever you wish to term her, Fi. Unlike Midna in Twilight Princess, Fi actually gives you information about opponents. She's a bit like Navi and Tatl in this respect, though She more resembles Tatl, because she doesn't always have a full roster of information on something. Uniquely among the sidekicks, she can also give information on people. She also tends to give various statistics and percentages. (apparently she's some kind of android) I find it somewhat cute that she's apparently a tad unsure of herself, as I've yet to ever see her give a 100% on any statistic or probability equation. She also tends to have some very tounge in cheek humor.

Then there's the characters. One in particular stands out. His name is Groose. He has a major crush on Zelda, who in this game has been friends with Link since childhood. The guy is obviously repressing something, because he hates Link with a passion that could rival Ganondorf's. Seriously, if you go in his room, you'll find a punching bag with a picture of Link taped to it. He may change, but I still think he needs to do a little self questioning. You cna't be that obsessed wihtout holding SOMETHING back.

The enemies and fights in this game are awesome too, though the main villian is more than a  little creepy. The boss fights are much cooler now too, sice you actually have to think a bit during them.

That's all for know. I'll be getting around to getting everything done, and Happy December everyone :D
